WAS International GmbH
WAS International GmbH

WAS International GmbH is globally active in providing valuable knowledge and expertise about concrete restorations. It specialises in carbon concrete and material combinations with non-metallic reinforcement. Among our customers are primarily specialist concrete renovation companies as well as building maintenance firms. Customers also include construction industry training centres.

The establishment of new government guidelines for concrete components with non-metallic reinforcement has redefined the requirements for companies and expert personnel. Companies in the concrete refurbishment and building preservation sector are currently facing the challenge that although there are numerous possibilities for concrete refurbishments by using carbon concrete or material combinations with non-metallic reinforcement, it doesn’t always comply with current regulations.

Carbon concrete and material combinations with non-metallic reinforcements offer innovative possibilities in concrete refurbishment. The technology is based on using carbon fabrics or grids in combination with special mortar systems. This process enables an effective and durable refurbishment of concrete components.

With the support of international partners, WAS International GmbH has developed a modern, environmentally friendly and sustainable system for the renovation and preservation of buildings.

This system consists of:

  1. a symmetrical, bidirectional carbon grid with high solidity for the structural reinforcement in building construction, civil engineering and tunnelling.

Area of application:

  • Universal application possibilities in building construction, civil engineering and tunnelling.
  • Replacement of corroding steel reinforcement
  • Refurbishment of precast concrete elements
  • Strengthening for structural maintenance purposes
  • Reinforcement of masonry

Advantages:

  • Low concrete cover required as there is no corrosion
  • High tensile strength with low weight per unit area
  • Chemically inert and highly heat resistant
  • Maximum preservation of the clearance or flow principle
  • Easy and flexible application (even overhead)
